What is a protected spring?

A protected spring is a source that is protected from surface intrusion (contaminants) and other environmental influences such as atmospheric and animal exposures. This requirement ensures that surface water contaminants and other sources of contaminants are prevented from entering the water supply.

How Does Haley Brands assure consistent quality?

Moda® is filtered utilizing carbon and micron filtration. In addition, the Ozonation and Ultra Violet-C process is used, which is a natural and effective form of water disinfection. Is Moda® available in glass bottles?

Not yet. An elegant 750 ml glass bottle for restaurants and on-premise environments is planned for late 2007.

There are so many bottled waters out there.... what was the inspiration for Moda® ?

 

After introducing our flagship product Potenza®, we had the opportunity to study the upscale premium bottled water market, and observed that many of the best selling brands are imported from foreign countries, shipped from thousands of miles away. As experts in water quality, we believe  that these foreign brands have no discernable difference in quality from many North American sources. We felt it was time to create an upscale bottled spring water from the Pacific Northwest, to provide an alternative premium brand of unsurpassed quality from closer to home. Shipping water and the packaging it comes in, is heavy and requires a lot of energy to transport long distances, pollutes the environment, and gets stored for months in shipping containers and on port docks. Why does Moda® cost more than generic bottled waters?

 

Generic bottled water is usually purified water from a municipal water supply. Moda® water is derived from a deep artesian well, in the mountains of Oregon, protected by hundreds of feet of the earth’s surface, creating the perfect combination of naturally occurring source minerals, pH, and purity. The source  is protected from surface intrusion (contaminants) and other environmental influences such as atmospheric and animal exposures.  Moda® is an exquisitely refreshing spring water and is one of the finest quality spring waters available in North America.

 

Are all bottled waters spring water?

 

No. Many well known bottled waters, and most from the large conglomerates like Coke® and Pepsi® (Aquafina®, Dasani®) are “purified water”, which are essentially water taken from a municipal water system, filtered of all their content, and then have minerals added back to them. They are not sourced from springs or artesian wells, and their mineral content is not naturally occurring.
